The present study investigates the multifaceted phenomena of code-mixing, code-switching, and language attrition as observed within the dynamic landscape of social media communication. Through a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis, this research aims to discern and interpret the intricate patterns and underlying motivations that drive the concurrent use of multiple
languages within a single discourse in the realm of social media interactions. Furthermore, it endeavours to explore the socio-cultural implications embedded in the phenomena of code-mixing and code-switching within the digital sphere. The study's focus extends to delve into the potential ramifications of these phenomena on language attrition processes. It aims to shed light on the consequential effects of code-mixing and code-switching on language maintenance, proficiency, and identity construction in digital spaces. This research strives to enrich the understanding of language dynamics in contemporary digital discourse by offering a nuanced analysis rooted in sociolinguistic theories. The findings based on a comprehensive analysis of one hundred comments provide valuable insights into the intricate relationships between linguistic diversity, sociocultural factors, and online communication practices in an increasingly interconnected global society.
