Abstract

The advancement in information and communication technologies has broadened the scope of mobile technologies. Mobile technology has integrated into the education sector and has taken teaching- learning beyond the classroom walls to anytime anywhere learning through mobile devices. Recently, a number of mobile-based learning applications have come into the market to provide a virtual learning experience to children. The effectiveness and usability of mobile-based learning applications have led to their increasing use in the arena of education. The purpose of the present paper is to find out the attitude of secondary school students toward the usability and effectiveness of mobile-based learning applications. The study also analyzed the opinion of secondary school students in regard to the different attributes of usability and effectiveness of mobile-based learning applications. The sample of the study comprised 300 secondary school students from two schools in the Patna district. The present study revealed that secondary school students show a positive attitude toward the usability and effectiveness of mobile-based learning applications. The study also brought to light that the attitude of secondary school students does not differ due to gender.
